Calling all racing enthusiasts: Red Bull will take one of its Formula 1 cars, the RB7, to the streets of the district on Saturday, April 20. That afternoon, the car will change its typical loop down Pennsylvania Avenue, which runs from the Federal Trade Commission. From construction to the East Building of the National Gallery of Art, right at the foot of the Capitol. The car has championship pedigree: it is the car selected by Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel in the direction of his name in Formula 1. in 2011.
Although the event is a race (former Formula 1 stalwart David Coulthard is the only driver driving the RB7), enthusiasts are encouraged to gather along the course from 13:00 (engines should start at 16:00). and no registration required.
The festivities kick off Friday with a fan festival at 2 p. m. at Union Market, where consumers will have the opportunity to ask questions and answers to Red Bull Racing team members, or try out a racing simulator themselves.
The RB7 probably won’t be the only vehicle to tear up the asphalt of Pennsylvania Avenue. The event will also feature performances by freestyle street biker Aaron Colton, as well as rally car driver Scott Speed, also a Formula 1 alumnus.
