Helmut Marko caused a stir recently with his statements about the mentality of South American drivers when referring to Checo Perez.
Not only did he call him South American given that Perez is Mexican, but he was also criticized for using those words to hurt the Red Bull driver’s performance.
Following the controversy, the media asked the Red Bull adviser to reappear at Suzuka after he said nothing in Singapore, but, surprisingly, Marko remained silent.
In fact, Diego Mejia of Fox Sports reports that Red Bull has ordered Helmut Marko to rule on the matter.
Mejia: “I noticed that today we learned that some of the media that communicate with Dr. Marko here in the circuit are warned that he will not speak to them. And apparently, it’s an instruction from above. “
There is no doubt that Marko’s statements about Checo’s functionality have not been well received by Red Bull, and it turns out that as a result he has been begged not to speak, time will tell if this will continue over the weekend.
