GENEVA (AP) – Former Red Star rivals Belgrade and Dinamo Zagreb lost on Wednesday in the third Champions League standings.
Red Star’s loss in the penalty shootout to Omonia, following a 1–1 draw in Cyprus, ended that of the Serbian champion to advance to the four qualifying rounds at the organization level for the third year in a row.
Omonia 4-2 after Australian defender Miloo Degenek and Italian striker Diego Falcinelli failed the event for Red Star.
Dinamo, who played at the organization level last season, was eliminated 2–1 through Ferencvaros in Budapest.
The Ferencvaros winger, Myrto Uzuni, scored the purpose of the victory in the part of the moment after his own purpose tied for Dinamo.
On a smart night for coaches who played in the English Premier League, Ferencvaros’ Serhiy Rebrov teamed up in the knockout round through two former Blackburn breakers, Omonia’s Henning Berg and Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Giorgios Donis.
An Maccabi team trained through the Dinos for five weeks beat Dinamo Brest 1-0.
Danish Midtjylland beat the Young Boys 3-0 at home with 3 goals in the second half.
In some other penalty shootout in Cyprus, Molde of Norway beat Azerbaijan’s Qarabag after a blank draw. The adjustment was played in impartial Cyprus due to travel restrictions between countries and the coronavirus pandemic between the countries of the two teams.
All UEFA interclub qualifying matches are played in amateur stadiums due to the pandemic.
So far, the Champions League’s 3 qualifying circulars have been single-legged matches on a tight schedule for the delayed season. Next week’s playoff circular returns to a classic two-game round-trip series.
Maccabi will play the first leg at the Salzburg home, and Omonia will pass first to face Olympiakos.
Ferencvaros plays first in Molde and Midtjylland travels to Slavia Prague.
In a separate playoff section, for groups that have won the name in their top-ranked national league, Krasnodar faces PAOK Thessaloniki and Ghent faces Dynamo Kyiv.
The six winners of the playoffs will participate in the draw for the organization level of 32 teams on October 1.
