Brandon Aiyuk has hinted at some frustration with the San Francisco 49ers entering the final year of his contract, and at least one AFC team has expressed interest in a potential industry for the star receiver.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in acquiring Aiyuk, Andrew Fillipponi from 93. 7 The Fan.

The Steelers revamped their receiving corps this offseason. They knocked out veteran Allen Robinson after a disappointing year in 2023. Pittsburgh then traded Diontae Johnson and signed Van Jefferson to a one-year contract.
George Pickens has been the Steelers’ most no-nonsense receiver lately. He’s coming off a breakout season in which he had 63 catches for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns despite the quarterback’s erratic play. If Pittsburgh could land a receiver like Aiyuk, it would go a long way in setting Russell Wilson up for misfortune in his first season with the team.
The 49ers decided on the fifth-year option on Aiyuk’s rookie contract last offseason. He is expected to earn around $14 million in 2024.
It remains to be seen if the 49ers would be willing to pull the former first-round pick after back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.
