REPORT: Brenden Schooler is transferred to Texas

Former Oregon Duck recipient Brenden Schooler allegedly discovered a new home to end his career in school football.

According to Horns247’s Chip Brown, the Texan of 247Sports Network, Schooler will graduate from Texas and play for the Longhorns this fall. Schooler did not verify the report and Texas did not announce the transfer.

The Big 12 Conference plans to play a different season in the fall of 2020, allowing Schooler to play a school football season on time and then allow him to prepare for the next 2021 National Football League draft. The Longhorns want the receiver position, and Schooler will complete it according to Horns247.

The 6-foot-2-inch receiver left the Ducks halfway through last season in search of more time to bet after opting for the red jersey for the rest of his senior season due to injuries that prevented him from playing in the early part of the year. He originally intended to play football at school this fall in Arizona, where his younger brother, Colin, became a beginner supporter. But with the COVID-19 pandemic coming into the game and the Pac-12 having chosen not to play this fall, the two Schooler brothers decided to stop looking for a school this fall to play.

Schooler had four interceptions in 10 starts as a rookie in Oregon before moving on to the receiver this year. He put in 41 passes for 477 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2017 and 2018 in Oregon. As a junior in 2018, Schooler was a first-team All-Pac-12 special team player.

In 2019, Schooler suffered a right foot injury at fall camp that caused him to miss last season’s first four games. He returned from injury and hit two passes for 44 yards in three action games before entering the movement door. His last game in Oregon against Washington.
