One of the greatest venerable traditions of school football is about to look very different in 2021, and may not even take place where it is planned.
According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, NCAA officials are drawing up contingency plans to play Pasadena’s annual rose bowl outdoor game.
The same thought is in position around the scheduled semi-final of the school football playoffs in Pasadena, which could move to another city to allow the Rose Bowl to host a more classic game.
The biggest fear is the cases of COVID-19 in Southern California. The state house order is expected to last until Christmas, and three more scheduled bowling games have been canceled in California. The Rose Bowl has asked for a special exception to allow players’ families to attend the game, but so far they have been rejected.
