Report: Pete Werner to extend three-year contract with Saints

New Orleans Saints linebacker Pete Werner was rewarded with the security of a new contract.

The fourth-year pro agreed to a three-year contract extension worth more than $25 million, with $17. 5 million guaranteed, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.

The former second-round pick out of Ohio State has been a starter for New Orleans since his rookie crusade in 2021. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Werner, 6’3″, 242, played NFL games with 35 starts, totaling 235 tackles, 4 defensive passes, two forced fumbles, two fumbles and one interception.
