Report: Zenit contacts to deflect Leeds United talks for Rodrigo de Paul

According to Calciomercato, Zenit St Petersburg has to divert Leeds United’s interest in Udinese game creator Rodrigo De Paul.

Zenit is alleged to have spoken to De Paul’s entourage about his interest in an agreement.

Zenit intends to sell Emiliano Rigoni and has known his Argentinian compatriot De Paul as the ideal replacement; they still have to make a business offer.

This is because De Paul’s priority is Serie A, with Juventus short to point out, while Naples is also in the race.

Italian clubs now seem to be favourites, meaning a move to Russia is unlikely, as is a move to the Premier League as things are.

Leeds United have been seeking a deal for De Paul for a few weeks, but has not yet made a breakthrough in talks with Udinese.

The 26-year-old scored seven goals and six assists for Udinese last season, while recording impressive numbers in dribble and key passes.

De Paul may have brought more creativity to Leeds’ appearance and been Pablo Hernandez’s long-term successor, however Zenit now poses a new risk, and De Paul’s preference to remain in Italy will also be a major obstacle.

In other news, Klopp makes an admission related to a Leeds player at 1. 5 million pounds.
