Revolution M Nguyen leaves MLS for Vietnamese club

Veteran New England Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen left MLS after 11 seasons to sign for Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam’s V. League 1.

Nguyen, 34, has done two separate terms with Revolution, starting with the club in 2012 and staying there until he moved to the expansion of Los Angeles FC in 2018. He decided through Inter Miami CF in the expansion draft before the 2020 season, before returning to New England in September.

He has goals and 50 assists in seven seasons with Revolution. In 256 MLS games in his career, Nguyen has 55 goals and 59 assists.

Originally from Vietnamese origin, he began his professional career in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven (2005–06) before joining the Dutch Randers for two seasons. He also has nine appearances for the U. S. men’s team.
