Rio Ferdinand has expressed his opinion on Manchester United’s activities in the summer and believes ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have been frustrated by the club’s inability to achieve its main goal.
United signed Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles, Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellistri this summer, as well as an agreement to hire Amad Diallo in January, with 4 of the agreements ended on the deadline.
Jadon Sancho was United’s main goal in the summer window, but United failed to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to bring former Manchester City player back to England.
This has caused significant frustration among enthusiasts and Ferdinand believes that Solskjaer will feel the same about the deal that was not made.
In publishing his verdict on signatures, Ferdinand said the challenge is that none of the new additions improves Solskjaer’s first XI.
“If I’m sitting in his shoes (from Solskjaer) now, I’d be very frustrated. As I said, he, full of optimism at the end of last season, allowed the team to enter the Champions League, which I am some component of what needed to be done,” he told BT Sport.
“But I have a feeling that in terms of acquisitions in the moving market, you’ll be frustrated because you didn’t get what you were looking for and I don’t think what you did in that window took your 11 most sensible and that’s the problem. “
United face Paris Saint-Germain in their first match of the Champions League organizing level tonight, Solskjaer’s host of the time as coach.
RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir are the other two of United’s team in their continental campaign.
