Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has praised Reds midfielder Philippe Coutinho after being named to last week’s PFA Premier League.
He told Liverpool’s official website: “The player who stands out this year probably Philippe Coutinho, I’d be surprised if he didn’t win it. He scored goals.
“As a striker, I enjoyed betting with players like that because you knew you were going to have some in a game.
“He is one of the players who can open defenses; in the end, the attackers have it, but he’s the attacker.
“He puts the ball in safe positions where you think it’s impossible, and it’s a pleasure to see the component of his footwork to create area for him.
“It’s a paradise game for any player who plays against Liverpool when you have a talented player.”
