De Paul began his football career with Racing Club de Avellaneda at the age of eight, and 11 years later made his professional debut, replacing former Juventus player Mauro Camoranesi in the 76th minute of the 3–0 loss to Atletico Rafaela.
In Racing, De Paul watched intensely through Valencia’s sporting director Roberto Ayala.
Ayala, himself a former Serie A and La Liga gamer, knew De Paul well after spending two years as director of racing academy before moving to Valencia.

Playing for a team that has flirted with relegation, De Paul has played a key role in keeping Udinese’s position at the center of the table.
He had his most productive season in 2018-19, with 16 goals and seven assists, and followed her in 2019-20 with a forged campaign, scoring seven goals and assisting six.
