Belgian Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku scored and tormented Bayer Leverkusen’s defence while leading his to the Europa League semi-finals with a 2–1 win on Monday.

Nicolo Barella put Inter ahead in the 15th minute, bringing the house of the ball after Lukaku’s shot blocked, and six minutes later the Belgian scored the blade of the game when he showed his strength by pushing defender Edmond Tapsoba before firing.

The winger of Leverkusen Kai Havertz, believed to have been a moving target for Chelsea in the Premier League, has withdrawn a purpose for the Germans, but goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky, who kept them in the game with a number of good stops.

Lukaku placed the ball at the penalty point once in half-time only for the assistant video referee (VAR) to overturn any of the decisions, but that did not prevent Inter from reaching a semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk or FC Basel, who face off on Tuesday.
