Roy Keane named Fred the weakest of Manchester United on Sunday’s comeback to Southampton.

United twice scored the Saints at St Mary’s after Jan Bednarek opened the scoring with a headbutt and James Ward-Prowse fired a free kick home.

Keane has criticized United goalkeeper David de Gea in the past, but has singled out the Spaniard for scoring two goals in the first forty-five minutes.

Instead, the Irishman turned to United’s Brazilian midfielder Fred, who gave a reasonable loose kick to the edge of the Red Devils area, which changed through Ward-Prowse.

“Well, I’d be more critical of Fred, I think Fred gave up the loose kick,” Keane said at halftime break at Sky Sports.

“From Gea, again, I still don’t expect my goalkeeper to be defeated from there, no.

“Fantastic kick, speed and precision, is one of the most productive in Europe right now with this type of delivery.

“I’d be disappointed by my doorman, but I’d be more upset if Fred was lazy, careless.

“You know, giving loose shots in this is like giving away a penalty. “

United reversed the game in the part of the moment with Bruno Fernandes cutting the deficit close to the hour.

Edinson Cavani tied the score with a headbutt at a quarter of an hour for the end, then finished the change with a head effort in the off time.
