Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to invest in Wrexham and realize the “fantastic potential” of the National League club.
Discussions with Reynolds and McElhenney will continue after wrexham Supporters Trust board members voted overwhelmingly in favor of what is in a special general meeting.
The vote led the club to reveal the identity of the two proposed bidders: Deadpool star Reynolds and American actor, director, manufacturer and screenwriter McElhenny, who is most productive known as it’s Sunny Always in Philadelphia.
Reynolds, who has business interests, headed to Twitter On Wednesday night to respond to a 2012 tweet that read, “You never know when Ryan Reynolds will show up at Wrexham. “

Wrexham director Spencer Harris, who is also director of the Supporters Trust, told the Palestinian Authority news firm about the proposed investment in Hollywood: “It’s still at the level where we want to finalize the agreement and inform members at a time AGM. . .
“But I’d like to think that Rob and Ryan believe that Wrexham is a hot prospect with potential.
“People with Rob and Ryan’s professionalism don’t come very well and the news of their interest is quite exciting for fans, I’m sure.
“Other people are very motivated and very successful other people in their sector.
“But from our discussions, I can say that they have their feet on the ground and they need the club. “
Harris said he spoke to the two Hollywood stars on a Zoom call Wednesday night after the General Shareholders’ Meeting subsidized the club for additional investment talks.
He said contacts had first been established with representatives of the two actors before McElhenny and Reynolds spoke personally with Wrexham officials.
“I’m sure other people will find it a remarkable story,” Harris said. “But I would ask other people to give us time to finish the story.
“I hope we can bring some other bankruptcy into the history of what is the third oldest professional club in the world and the oldest professional club in Wales. “
One member of the Wrexham Supporters Trust Board said: “As shown this morning, 97. 5% of the electorate (1,223 members) voted in favor of the resolution.
“As a result, discussions with the proposed bidders will continue and we can verify the two Americans interested in making an investment in Wrexham AFC.
“In due course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will give their vision of Wrexham AFC and invite members to vote at a general meeting at an ordinary time. “
