Salford canceled his education consultation on Wednesday and his Super League match against the Catalans on Saturday is in doubt after six Hull FC players and two of their behind-the-scenes workers tested positive for Covid-19.
Five of Hull’s six anonymous players to date who tried to play against Ian Watson’s men this weekend.
The other player was not worried about the 17-day team, while another player who played needed new control after an inconclusive result.
The Red Devils are still waiting for the effects of the new test run and are now waiting for news from the RFL that is analyzing Sunday’s game to see if Salford players deserve to isolate themselves.
A on the Salford Red Devils online page said last night: “Salford Red Devils and Hull FC have canceled their scheduled educational sessions for Wednesday morning after several Hull FC players tested positive for Covid-19 after Betfred’s Super League match between Sunday teams…
“This resolution was taken in the most productive interest of the fitness and well-being of all salford Red Devils players and staff.
“Five Hull FC players who were concerned about the adjustment tested positive, plus a sixth that was not on their 17th day, while a sixth member on Sunday’s 17 underwent another check after an inconclusive result.
“Everyone who tested positive now will have to be quarantined for 10 days, until August 21, in accordance with national guidelines.
“Two members of Hull’s education also tested positive.
“Public Health England, FC helmet players and the Salford Red Devils club were informed of the stage tonight.
“The effects of the Salford weekly regime tests have not yet been received, but the RFL is now analyzing Sunday’s game to find out how many players from each team will also want to isolate themselves according to the testing and tracking procedures that have been agreed with Public Health England.
“Announcements about the effect of upcoming Betfred Super League and Coral Challenge Cup matches over the next two weekends will be made as soon as possible.”
