San Jose St. transfers football to Humboldt State

SAN JOSE, California (AP) – The San Jose state football team will travel more than three hundred miles to begin education for next season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Spartans announced Wednesday that they will go to Humboldt state this week for exercise until the school and Santa Clara County can agree to practice rules that comply with COVID-19 protocols.

Players will continue to take online courses with remote assistance and mentoring as the team trains in Arcata, about 330 miles from the San Jose state campus.

Approximately 135 players, coaches and an essential team will travel to Humboldt State. The price of the holiday will be decided over the duration of the team’s stay.

The Spartans are scheduled to begin an eight-game season on October 24.
