Inter Milan leader Giuseppe Marotta said Alexis Sanchez has signed a three-year contract with the Italian club.
Sanchez, 31, joined Inter on loan from Manchester United in August last year and the Serie A club was willing to accept that resolution in a permanent agreement.
Marotta reportedly told reporters on Football Italia’s online page that the deal was reached and would be formalized on Thursday.
“Unofficially, we will make it official (on Thursday) in the morning, the player is owned by Inter,” Marotta said.
“We have a contract with him for three seasons. We in it may be part of this team and we are pleased to have reached this agreement.
Former Arsenal scorer Sanchez has scored 4 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season and among his replacements in his Europa League match against Getafe on Wednesday night.
Sanchez teamed up with former United teammate Romelu Lukaku in San Siro when he reached 2019.
The Chilean foreigner spent a depressing moment at Old Trafford after United signed him from Arsenal in a deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January 2018.
He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract worth 14 million pounds a year after tax, but struggled to reflect his form.
Sanchez has scored five goals in forty-five appearances and is no longer part of United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.
It has been reported that United had paid a steady percentage of Sanchez’s salary of 400,000 euros per week and that the player would have accepted a sharp pay cut to make his move to Italy permanent.
Arsenal paid Barcelona 30 million pounds to take Sanchez to the Premier League in 2014 and scored 80 goals in three and a half years with the Gunners.
