Saturday’s scheduled LSU-Missouri football game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will move to Columbia, Missouri, due to the Delta Hurricane hit by the state of Louisiana, resources have shown to ESPN.
The game was originally scheduled to begin at nine p. m. ET, but moved until noon ET to Faurot Field in Missouri, resources told ESPN.
SEC Associate Commissioner Herb Vincent said in a statement that a final resolution on the prestige of the game is expected to be announced Wednesday morning. SEC sports officials said Tuesday that they were largely following Hurricane Delta and were in communication with SEC and Missouri officials “on contingency plans if necessary. “
Baton Rouge’s lawyer announced for the first time Tuesday that the game will be transferred from Tiger Stadium to Faurot Field.
Hurricanes and other typhoons have impacted several LSU games over the years, with the latest Hurricane Harvey forcing the opening of the 2017 season between LSU and BYU to move from Houston’s NRG Stadium to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Florida-LSU fit originally scheduled to play in Gainesville, Florida, moved to Baton Rouge a month later due to Hurricane Matthew.
