Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has defended David de Gea as the Spaniard continues to improve.
It’s fair to say that David de Gea has been through a difficult time at Man United for some time.
The Spaniard has been, for several years, with far the most productive player in United, and even the most productive goalkeeper of the English elite.
However, for the last two seasons, Gea has been at his best.

Meanwhile, more recently, De Gea has produced the newest on a list of high-level bug-developing, this time Chelsea.
In the FA Cup semi-final between Les Bleus and the Red Devils, De Gea is not in his most productive moment for Olivier Giroud’s first match.

Obviously, de Gea can not only be blamed for United’s fall in the FA Cup, but his bad goalkeeper did not help.
And with Dean Henderson waiting behind the scenes, some began calling England pitcher to upgrade Gea to Old Trafford.
However, one guy who disagrees with such a view is the aforementioned Peter Schmeichel, who recently expressed the view that De Gea was being treated unfairly:
“De Gea is one of the most productive goalkeepers in the Premier League in recent years, I don’t know how many years.
“One of the things I think is that the way Ole has replaced the way the team plays doesn’t fit with the way De Gea has played the last two years, so he’s made adjustments to his game.
“And when you make changes, you make mistakes. If he doesn’t make mistakes, he doesn’t really learn.
“Now they have the 3rd place, they have the Europa League set, he comes back with a few weeks off, he goes back to a new season, everything will be fine.
“I see David de Gea as the Manchester United goalkeeper for many years and I think he treated him unfairly with all honesty.”
