Paul Scholes insists that Manchester United will face FC Copenhagen in the Europa League semi-finals, but is wary of the risk ahead of them in the final.
United beat LASK 7-1 overall to his position in the round of 18 on Wednesday and will face Copenhagen on Monday.
And Scholes supported Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team to move to the end, but admits that a specific one is a genuine risk to them to lift the trophy.
Speaking to BT Sport, Scholes said: “This Europa League is a great opportunity for them now.
“There are still decent groups there, you can’t rule out players like Sevilla, who have won it three times on the trot at a stage.
“Rome will have an obvious quality, Italian groups are hard to face.
“But the biggest risk of Manchester United winning this Europa League for me is Inter Milan, I think he’s with United.”
If United beats Copenhagen, a semi-final with the winner of the Wolves vs Sevilla awaits them.
Inter is in the other aspect of the tie against Bayer Leverkusen, while Shakhtar Donetsk and Basel are playing the other match.
“I think if it’s the final, it’ll be a wonderful ending, anything to look forward,” Scholes said. “There is motivation on both sides, especially from Inter players. Look at Lukaku when he left the club, it might be a wonderful story.”
“But I think if United shoots, mentally he’s right, he’s fresh, I think he’s got better players than Inter Milan, he’s passing by.
“They will beat Copenhagen,” he added. “I don’t think that’s a problem.”
