Bayer Leverkusen in talks with Arsenal about an agreement to point to defenseman Sead Kolasinac.
Sky in Germany reports that Leverkusen has recently intensified its efforts to point to the Bosnia and Herzegovina international, which has fallen to Kieran Tierney and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
The 27-year-old, in the past linked to a return to the former club Schalke, was born in Germany and would like to return to the Bundesliga for family reasons.
Kolasinac, who has played 107 games for Arsenal since he arrived on a loose play for Schalke in 2017, an unused replacement on Monday when the Gunners lost 3–1 to Premier League champions Liverpool.
He won the league 2–1 over West Ham this month, as well as a 2-0 win in the Carabao Cup over Leicester, playing 90 minutes in both matches.
However, with Bukayo Saka also playing as a backman, Arsenal seem comfortable charging kolasinac, who has reached the last two years of his contract.
Leverkusen, who recently sold Kai Havertz to Chelsea from a contract of 75. 8 million pounds, is expected to have the budget to close the deal.
Kolasinac would make Arsenal’s remarkable moment begin this summer, following the sale of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for 17 million pounds.
The Gunners have been connected to a move past Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, and French club president Jean-Michel Aulas said Arsenal were “too far away” from the player’s value.
