A man running as a personal security guard for a television station in custody on Sunday while the government was investigating a fatal shooting after an altercation at opposing demonstrations in downtown Denver.
Violence erupted Saturday afternoon at Civic Center Park after a guy participating in what’s called a Patriot Rally sprayed another guy with a sledgehammer, according to the Denver Post.
The guy who shot near the Denver Art Museum was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died an hour later, KUSA tv reported. The station said on its online page that it had hired the personal security guard who had been arrested in connection with the shooting.
“It has been the practice of 9NEWS for several months to rent personal security facilities to accompany staff demonstrations,” the station said.
On Sunday, Denver police met the security guard as Matthew Dolloff, 30, and said he was in custody to investigate a first-degree homicide in connection with Saturday’s incident. City officials said Dolloff was not allowed to paint as an armed personal security guard in Denver. Informed publication.
The victim of the shooting, who has not been named by the authorities, known through the Post as Lee Keltner, a 49-year-old U. S. Navy veteran who ran a hat-making business in the Denver area.

A verbal altercation occurred before the shooting, Joe Montoya, head of the Denver Police Department’s investigation division.
A “private security officer with no association with Antifa” is a suspect in the incident, police tweeted the previous Saturday.
There was a strong police presence downtown on Saturday afternoon, and officials tried to separate “two teams with opposing views,” Montoya said. Two firearms and a box of masses were discovered at the site, he said.
A counter-test “BLM-Antifa Soup Drive” took place in the park around the same time as the Patriot Rally.
Patriot Rally’s right-wing protesters piled up in the park amphitheatre and chanted songs and stacked banners, the Post reported.
Participants in the left rally waved flags and symptoms that ridiculed the Nazis and white supremacists as they piled up in the park, several hundred yards from the barricaded amphitheater, the Post reported.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said violence is not acceptable.
“While we encourage nonviolent protests, we will never tolerate protests becoming clashes and violence. Political disputes will have to be resolved at the ballot box and not on the streets, and we will continue to do so this election season and beyond,” he added. Tweeted. .
