Sergio Santos scored 3 when the Philadelphia Union beat Toronto FC 5-0 in a high-level matchup Saturday night, ending TFC’s nine-game undefeated streak.
Mark McKenzie and Jamiro Monteiro added singles with Kacper Przybylko contributing 3 assists for an endemic Philadelphia. The margin of victory could have been greater had it been for some good stops from Quentin Westberg, Toronto’s overworked goalkeeper.
The unbalanced victory gave the Union the lead in the league and the Eastern Conference by difference of purpose over Toronto at 12-3-5. Montreal and Vancouver respectively.
It is the first time Toronto has lost five goals since the 5–1 loss to Houston in April 2018. That day, Toronto covered a moment before a CONCACAF Champions League match.
Philadelphia has surpassed a five-match winning streak (4-0-1) since the 2–1 loss to Toronto on October 3 at East Hartford. The Union also advanced to 7-0-0 in the league this season at Subaru Park. that opened its doors with the local government by allowing a capacity of 15%, or about 2,775 spectators.
Philadelphia took little time to join a Toronto team, with no big names due to injury. Accustomed to being the hammer, Toronto was the center of attention that night and ended 2-0 after 33 minutes.
Santos’ hat trick came in the 68th minute, when the anonymous Brazilian connected an Aaronson center in Westberg, which elevated Santos’ general to seven.

Ali Adnan and Tosaint Ricketts scored when the Vancouver Whitecaps defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.
The Whitecaps hoped to remain in the Western Conference playoffs with a win. They entered the game in a trio for eighth and final place in the playoffs with Real Salt Lake and Houston. Vancouver’s victory now puts them at the same point as St. Joseph’s in trouble. as they are tied for seventh place, the Caps have two more victories than the Quakes.
The Whitecaps came 1-0 after a goal by Carlos Fierro in the 24th minute, Cristian Espinoza accelerated the wing and threw the ball into the area, then Fierro stole the ball into the net and passed to goalkeeper Evan Bush to open the scoring.

Vancouver came to half-time with one goal, they responded with two at half-time.
Ali Adnan tied in the 51st minute with a 32-meter loose kick that surpassed Quakes goalkeeper James Marcinowski.
Vancouver would eventually take the lead thanks to Tosaint Ricketts later in the middle. Cristian Dajome fired a shot at the net that Marcinowski first saved, but the ball was diverted to Ricketts’ foot, who then hit him in the net to give the Caps a 2-1 lead.
The Whitecaps will return to action Tuesday night the Seattle Sounders in Portland.
New York City FC scored goals from three other scorers by beating Montreal Impact 3–1 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
Jesús Medina, Maximilliano Morales and Tony Rocha scored for NYCFC (9-8-3) in Montreal’s third loss in their last four games. Romell Quioto scored the impact’s only target (7-11-2).

NYCFC’s victory puts them in fifth place in the East Premier League Football Conference. The team has a 9-0-0 record when it scores the first goal of the game.
Impact goalkeeper James Pantemis painted in the 5th minute of Saturday night’s game while highlighting a header through Maximilliano Morales, who, when the Montreal homeman dived to his forehand, was able to deflect the ball from the game with his right hand.
After forty-five minutes of goalless play, Pantemis had already made four stops.
But his blank blade would be tarnished in the part of the moment after Medina’s goal.
