Liverpool winger Sheyi Eye has joined Cardiff City on a one-season contract.

The 23-year-old spent his last term in Scotland with Rangers, but has been looking to resolve his long career since the Scottish Premiership was interrupted in May.

Ojo is about to debut with the Bluebirds when they begin their home league crusade in Sheffield on Wednesday weekend and the short-term move becomes the fifth of their career at Anfield.

Nottingham Forest also sought to lend Eye for the next campaign, but Anfield’s experts saw Cardiff as the choice at this level of his career.

“I have a point to meet and I’m excited about the new challenge,” Eye told Cardiff’s official website.

“Cardiff City is a huge club with wonderful enthusiasts and wonderful players. I hope I can show you what I can do here and have perfect compatibility.

“Wherever the ball is, I must worry about the game as much as possible.

“I am very happy to be here in time for a full week of education with the team before the first home game this Saturday. Now it’s vital to have a smart start. “

Ojo made up to thirteen appearances with Jurgen Klopp, most of whom came here in the coach’s first season at Anfield in 2016.

The widower spent the first part of the 2015/16 season on loan in the league with the wolves before being called up in January of that crusade through Klopp.

Ojo then made his red debut in a 2–2 FA Cup draw with Exeter City and scored his first goal for Liverpool in the resulting replay at Anfield.

He signed a contract extension in 2018 before being sent to Frenchman Reims and spent the 2019/20 crusade with rangers, making 36 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s team.
