Manchester United shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly making plans to build a huge single-storey stand at a new Old Trafford, which would be modelled on the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. It was recently claimed that Ratcliffe was determined to move forward with either. the renovation of Old Trafford or the structure of a new lopass stadium, while the existing stadium is in desperate need of modernisation.
Ratcliffe is said to have already set aside around £250m with a view to modernising or replacing Old Trafford in the near future. The cash will also be used to rebuild the club’s educational plant in Carrington, which has been its home for 24 years. And it could also be reworked. As part of the Old Trafford commission, the preferred option would be to demolish the existing stadium and build a new venue on the same site, according to the Daily Mail. A new stadium is said to come with a large single-tiered stand behind one of the goals, which would have similarities to the 17,500-capacity stand at Tottenham’s stadium. United’s new home is said to have a capacity of 90,000 fans, and discussions are already underway about how the allocation would be funded. Let’s go. Private investment partners are sought in Germany and abroad, and local politicians have also been discussed about government involvement.

Ratcliffe is confident that the commission can be completed within the next five years, but it remains to be seen whether his ambitious plans for the long-term Old Trafford will come to fruition. It will need external investment to finance the structure of a new stadium, already touted as the “Wembley of the North”. The assignment will most likely be well-earned by United enthusiasts if it goes as planned, as the dilapidated state of Old Trafford has been widely criticised in recent years. Gary Neville recently described the lack of investment in the stadium as “unforgivable”, and mentioned Anfield as an example of how Old Trafford can modernise after 17 years without redevelopment.

Speaking on the Diary Of A CEO podcast, Neville said: “I used to laugh when I went to Anfield and compare it to Old Trafford. I thought they could never catch me, they’re too far behind. “”It will be a more fashionable pitch than Manchester United and Old Trafford in 12 months’ time. It’s unforgivable. “
