FANS are a leading ‘howler’ from Sky Sports in the moments following Chelsea’s emphatic Carabao Cup defeat to Middlesbrough.
That’s after an on-screen legend mistakes Axel Disasi for his teammate Noni Madueke.
The Frenchman scored in Chelsea’s 6-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
The win erases in style the 1-0 first-leg loss at Riverside.
And Chelsea will now face either Liverpool or Fulham in next month’s final at Wembley.
However, fans felt the match was overshadowed after the final whistle when Disasi appeared live to express his thoughts.
As the centre-back made his way towards the screen, a spark appeared at the bottom, revealing his name.
However, instead of saying ‘Axel Disasi’, it instead bore the name of teammate Madueke.
Fans overcame the glaring mistake.
And they flooded Twitter in the aftermath of the incident.
One of them said, “It’s a howler. “
Another said: “Sky Sports made a big mistake. “
One noted: “Sky Sports Disasi is Madueke. “
Another added: “They came up with the idea of Disasi Madueke, I’m dead. “
Disasi netted the third goal of the night at Stamford Bridge, hitting the target in the 36th minute.
Prior to his goal, Jonny Howson’s own goal in the minute put Chelsea back level on points.
And Enzo Fernandez’s 29th minute effort saw the Blues lead the tie for the first time.
With Chelsea 3-1 up, Cole Palmer netted the fourth before half-time and added a fifth goal in the 77th minute.
Madueke made it 6-0 in the 81st minute before Morgan Rogers scored a goal for Boro to death.
