Dec 17 (Reuters) – Liverpool condemned the damage suffered on the Manchester United bus after a bottle was thrown at it as it headed to Anfield ahead of Sunday’s derby.
Juergen Klopp’s side missed the chance to regain the most sensible spot in the Premier League after drawing against Manchester United, ending their immaculate run at home this season.
“Liverpool Football Club condemns the movements that caused damage to the Manchester United team bus upon its arrival at Anfield this afternoon,” the club said in a statement.
“We are aware of the images of the incident circulating on the scene and are working with Merseyside Police to investigate and identify those responsible.
“Any individual found guilty of this reprehensible behaviour will also face the full force of the club’s sanction process.”
Videos posted on social media show the team bus traveling along Anfield Road when it collided with what appeared to be a glass bottle which hit the window and left a crack.
