Odegaard, who was Real Madrid’s youngest player when he debuted at age 16 in 2015, joined the Company on loan for a season last year with the option of a moment campaign.
The midfielder said last October that he sought to stay in the Society for two years in search of consistency after 3 loans in 3 years, but the La Liga champions have called the 21-year-old to his team before the new campaign.
“I wanted to send all the enthusiasts a farewell message and, above all, a message of thanks for what has been an unforgettable year for me,” Odegaard said in a video posted here on the Society’s official website.
Odegaard helped the Society the 4 most sensitive and, they missed the Qualifications for the Champions League, finished sixth to gain a position in the Europa League on the final day of the season.
They also released Real Madrid from the Copa del Rey on the verge of maximum opposition to Athletic Bilbao, which he postponed for the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I had wonderful moments in this shirt, starting with my presentation, my first goal, getting the most out of the Copa del Rey and qualifying for the Europa League,” Odegaard added.
“It’s time to say goodbye, here’s a Real Society fan forever.”
The club paid tribute to Odegaard, who played 36 games in all competitions and scored seven goals.
“It’s making a big impression in such a short time, but Martin did,” a message said on the club’s website.
