Soccer-Police cancels PSG’s T-shirt ban in Marseille Champions League final

The ban on Paris Saint-Germain enthusiasts dressed in their club’s blouse in the centre of Marseille’s Champions League final on Sunday has been revoked, Marseille police announced on Friday.

The ban was imposed after riots broke out in the city, home to PSG’s main rivals Olympique de Marseille, in PSG’s 3-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday.

L’Equipe reported that Marseille ultras patrolled the city’s Old Port district and threatened PSG enthusiasts with a guy arrested.

Marseille police said in a statement that the ban had been put in place to protect PSG supporters, but that it had been cancelled due to “the false impression caused by the decree.”
