MADRID – An imposing headbutt of Casemiro and a goal in the overtime of Karim Benzema saw Real Madrid beat a cursed Granada at home 2-0 on Wednesday to achieve his fifth consecutive victory in La Liga and tie the problems with the leader Atletico Madrid.
The champions lacked shine in the first half, but came to life in the part of the moment and, after a gust from the side of the house, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro pushed a center of Marco Asensio to give them the lead in the 57th minute.
The Real was lucky not to fall in the first minute when Raphael Varane ceded ownership and Roberto Soldado discovered Antonio Puertas, who sent his shot over the bar.
