RIO DE JANEIRO – Vasco da Gama took fourth place in Brazil’s Serie A on Sunday with a 1–1 home draw against Bragantino.
Alerrando missed a penalty in the first half for the visitors, then the match came to life with two goals in a minute in a while after the break.
Vinicius Paiva gave Vasco the upper hand in the 50th minute, but Lucas Evangelista tied a minute later with a shot placed in a crowded area.
The point leads the Basque to 18 points in matches, the same as Palmeiras, who played one less match. Bragantino is fourth in the league of 20 teams with problems in 12 games.
