Sources: Postecoglou’s main target gives Tottenham the green light for a surprising £60m move as talks intensify

Dominic Solanke has given light to his proposal to move to Tottenham Hotspur from Bournemouth, as revealed exclusively by TEAMtalk.

Solanke is one of Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou’s top targets this summer, having scored 21 goals and 4 assists for Bournemouth last season.

TEAMtalk reported last week that Solanke was willing to move to Tottenham, and the striker’s representatives were in contact with the north London club.

Although Solanke’s contract at Bournemouth has a £65m release clause, Tottenham are confident that an offer of £60m may be enough to convince the Cherries to sell.

In a new update, TEAMtalk may reveal that Solanke has given the green light to a move to Tottenham through his agents, with talks ongoing in a bid to close a deal with Bournemouth.

Tottenham, who have already signed midfielders Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall from Leeds United and Djurgarden respectively so far this summer, are looking for a new number nine following the sale of record goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer.

Although new captain Son Heung-Min stepped in in Kane’s absence last season to score 17 Premier League goals, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson may only contribute 11 and five goals respectively, with Spurs in dire need of a new leader for percentage carried with the child. .

While Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney and Lille star Jonathan David have been linked with Tottenham, Postecoglou has named Solanke as his top target to lead the line.

A move to Tottenham would allow Solanke to secure a third chance with one of the Premier League’s top clubs after spells at Chelsea and Liverpool.

Solanke emerged from Chelsea’s youth formula but made an appearance in the Blues’ first team, as a replacement in an organisational Champions League match against Maribor in 2014, before being brought to Liverpool via Jurgen Klopp in 2017.

The England striker once struggled to make a good impression at Liverpool, scoring one goal in 27 games on Merseyside before moving to Bournemouth in January 2019.

Solanke has one of the Premier League’s most productive strikers over five full seasons with Bournemouth and has enjoyed his toughest season yet under Andoni Iraola in 2023/24.

The 26-year-old has scored a total of goals and 31 assists in 216 appearances for Bournemouth.
