Man City put on a professional show and did enough to win. Southampton fought hard, star forward Danny Ings lost in the first half through injury, and Ralph Hasenhuttl will be proud of his team. It’s a very smart tactical warfare as the Saints can push for the sane six while Man City returns in the name race.

Man City climbed to fifth position and, defensively, was excellent, with John Stones off-court in the middle of the lag once again, and Kevin de Bruyne controlling things and calming Man City in midfield.

Thank you for me at St Mary’s today!

The saints open wide and Mahrez comes twice. A cry of “two minutes, come on!” Get up from the bank in Man City. They’re holding on.

Tella almost unearthed N’Lundulu. Man City’s late!

Home enthusiasts roar in their late appearance. Adams simply can’t succeed above his head while Ward-Prowse lashes into a big center. The saints are pushing hard.

Replays show handball in Sterling. Hmmm.

At times, when there are calls for a hand opposite Sterling, the ball bounced off his knee and hit his arm. He then plays with Redmond but falls when he throws his shot. Redmond has made a big difference since his arrival. Local enthusiasts applaud their team’s efforts.

Nathan Redmond is in Moussa Djenepo’s position, while Hasenhuttl mixes things in attack.

Near Man City, while Ferran Torres fires a deflected shot. A few minutes later, McCarthy denies some other attack on the city because Silva is taking too long. The city deserves to be out of sight.

Manchester City were detrimental at half-time and scored through Raheem Sterling, but Southampton dominated large swathes of the game. Ralph Hasenhuttl gutted Danny Ings for a knee injury at the end of the first half. , however, you can pass any of the tactics with Theo Walcott playing well for the hosts.

Update on Danny Ings’ injury, while local enthusiasts superbly support his team. SOUMCI in @NBCSN right pic. twitter. com/Wn1d73ycio

This is good news for Southampton, as the most sensible scorer Danny Ings returns with what looks like a comeback from his left knee injury, perhaps just out of caution, but there’s no good news.

Near! Walcott ties a very good center from the right that simply fails in Adams while Stones pitches out and Vestergaard from the corner heads towards him. The Saints pile up under pressure, local enthusiasts are their team!

The Saints fought well here, but Man City looks smart at the counter, deftly beating the Saints press.

Near! Great moment in the game when Djenepo discovers Walcott and Ings runs his center, but Ruben Dias cuts it with a higher foot while helping to keep his effort away. The VAR didn’t intervene because the Saints were looking for a penalty.

Near! Great for the Saints, as Walcott’s shot is repelled through Ederson and Romeu’s rebound is blocked. Excellent 60-yard crossover of Jannik Vestergaard to give him a head start.

Near! Two chances for Man City while Kevin de Bruyne has a deflected shot, then Joao Cancelo’s long-range shot is repelled by Alex McCarthy.

The Saints have taken smart positions but decide the option. Djenepo dropped the ball and City threw a counterattack, and Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was not satisfied with that.

The Saints are fine here! Djenepo has a shot that is blocked for a corner, and the Saints press high, forcing the City to make many mistakes with the ball.

We’re on our way to St Mary’s, as the Saints’ enthusiasts say, “Oh, when the Saints get on stage!”It’s amazing to see the noise that 2000 enthusiasts can make.

Hello St Mary’s rainy and windy! Oh, my God, it’s smart to see and hear 2,000 enthusiasts at St Mary’s for this game. As someone who grew up near Southampton, it was very touching to drive and watch enthusiasts walk the ground, do a song and laugh. You can spend a moment with a win and that sums up the jovial atmosphere after a good start to the season. But Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City looks great on the back and the maximum is now at the maximum of four sensible. This is going to be a wonderful game.

Southampton is replacing the team that tied for Arsenal, while Moussa Djenepo replaces Stuart Armstrong.

Manchester City have Sergio Aguero on the bench, while Eric Garcia (fitness) is absent and John Stones is still at the centre with Aymeric Laporte.

Ralph Hasenhuttl, about Southampton’s clever start: “I didn’t expect us to be back in the relegation war this season, but we’re so high you can’t wait for it. The risk of positions in the Champions League, we can take care of that. It’s another risk. I haven’t replaced my targets either. They are not based on the positions in the table, usually more on the game we need to play. I need to see progression, I need to see progression, every week and where it ends, I don’t know, to be honest. “

Pep Guardiola, about Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta: “Arsenal have no better coach running this club – this year and next – to be bigger than him. I don’t have to give my help publicly because he has it and knows he has He’s one of the most productive managers I’ve ever worked with, of course, and I noticed it directly. I’m pretty sure he’ll turn around and do it the way everyone expects. But when a club comes from a bad period, it wants time».

Against top teams, Southampton is a team that owns (54% consistent with the game, on average). It’s not just the way they create their goal chances, it’s also the way they protect themselves, restricting opponents’ time with the ball, because that’s where they can be a threat. However, Manchester City (60% on average) will take them out of their comfort zone and turn them into a much more counter-attacking team. It’s not the worst on the overall for Southampton, and they may do pretty well with the free-field performances of Che Adams, Danny Ings, Nathan Redmon and Moussa Djenepo. Southampton 2-3 Manchester City.
