The University of Southampton was ranked 15th overall in the 2021 Times and Sunday Times Good Universities Guide.
Southampton surpassed Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and York in this year’s table of 131 UK higher education institutions.
In the ranking of topics of the Guide, the University is number one in physiotherapy for the time being consecutive year with a “double-double” after taking first place for the consecutive year in the Integral University Guide for 2021, in June of this year. .
We place 14 other subjects in the 10 most sensitive of the Good University Guide, adding civil engineering (2nd); Topics similar to medicine (2nd); Electrical and electronic engineering (3rd); German (3rd); Iberian languages (4th); Music (fourth); French (6th); Mechanical engineering (sixth); Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering (7th); Criminology (ninth); Archaeology and Forensic Sciences (tenth); Communication and media studies (tenth); Geology (tenth).
Southampton President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark E Smith said: “I am pleased to see our rise to 15th place in the Good University Guide. At the moment, this year, we show the greatest development in functionality for those who are already in the most sensitive 20. I would like to thank my colleagues for all the hard work, determination and excellence in our research, business and education efforts reflected by the University. This result is excellent news as the new school year approaches.
The Good University Guide is composed of signs that focus on student satisfaction with the quality of training and delight of academics in general, the quality of research, graduate prospects, access scores obtained through new academics, student outcomes at staff ratios, facility expenses and services , and diploma completion rates with greater attention to social inclusion.
