Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu hopes to see action tonight, Carabao Cup opponent Brentford.
After the opening day’s defeat to Crystal Palace, the 28-year-old is of the importance of the next two games.
He told the club’s website: “We were going [to Crystal Palace] convinced that we were looking to get it right and add points. We couldn’t do that.
“We’ll pass back and check for a win against Brentford in the middle of the week, then a big home win comes against Tottenham. I’m sure the team will get up and come back. “
Romeu echoed his coach’s sentiment as he returned to the degrees of functionality the Saints enjoyed toward the end of last season.
“Brentford has done well in the afterlife in the league, and they have a smart team, so it will be difficult at home.
“Then Tottenham did a task this summer and they will do very well this season.
“I’m sure we can do very well by opposing both of us. We feel like we can take on any team and cause any unrest. I’m sure we’ll make it very soon. “
