St. Petersburg’s Zenit is set in the Royal Betis Nabil Fekir

Russian Zenit St Petersburg signed Real Betis game creator Nabil Fekir this summer, reports AS Daily.

The 27-year-old was the standout player of a Betis team last season, scoring seven goals and offering seven assists for the team that ended up in the back of the middle of the table.

Fekir has been connected to a summer outing through the Seville-based club, while his former club Olympique Lyonnais is entitled to 20% of any sale, while the player himself owns 10% of the economic rights, hence the desire for Betis to sell at least 30 million euros to the declared 22 million euros they spent last year.

Zenit is in the Champions League this year and has reportedly turned his attention to France after he is no longer interested in the signing of Christian Eriksen of Inter.

Betis will pay Fekir an annual gross salary of 7 million euros and he may see it as a way to ease his monetary pressures.

The Verdiblancos missed European football this season with Giovani Lo Celso, Pau López and Junior Firpo among those who left last summer after an economic setback.
