Start 5: Louisville Volleyball and Kentucky are set to begin their seasons in the NCAA Final Four

The Louisville and Kentucky women’s volleyball groups will open their seasons Tuesday at the AVCA First Serve Showcase at the KFC Yum! Center, this season’s NCAA Division I Final Four.

The ninth-ranked Wildcats are scheduled to face second-ranked Nebraska at 7 p. m. The sixth-seeded Cardinals are scheduled to face third-seeded Wisconsin at nine p. m.

St. Xavier’s High School senior pitcher Cooper Mattingly announced his commitment to Spalding University.

In his third year, Mattingly struck out 27 batters and recorded 4 wins with a 2. 31 ERA in 30 1/3 innings.

Louisville City FC will play North Carolina FC at 7:30 p. m. on Saturday.

The Louisville Bats will play the Indianapolis Indians in a seven-game series beginning at 7:05 p. m. Tuesday and will play again at 5:35 p. m. On Wednesday in a double day, then from Thursday to Saturday at 7:05 p. m. The last match of the series is scheduled for 1:35 p. m. on September 1.

Louisville men’s soccer will arrive in Tulsa at 8 p. m. Wednesday.
