Juventus have reportedly cooled their interest in giving Newcastle free access to the Manchester City midfielder.

City are reportedly waiting for loan repayment and a legal buyout liability as they look to recoup most, if all, of the £45m they spent to sign the Leeds player 18 months ago.

Phillips is desperate to leave to keep his hopes of being part of England’s Euro 2024 squad alive.

According to FootballTransfers, the Lille striker is of interest to United and Aston Villa and it is possible that a deal could come to fruition in the January transfer window.

David has long attracted interest at Old Trafford and Erik ten Hag could turn to the 23-year-old Canadian after his current generation of forwards put on a show in Manchester United’s 2-0 FA Cup win at Wigan.

Diogo Dalot scored the opener and a Bruno Fernandes penalty sealed United’s fourth round spot.

David’s contract has 18 months to run so while Lille are relucant to let their star man leave, their hand may be forced. A £34million price tag for January has been suggested.

Jadon Sancho’s salary demands delay his loan to Borussia Dortmund.

German media outlet Ruhr Nachtrichten reports that negotiations between Dortmund and Manchester United have stalled over wages, with the latter not allowing the disgraced player to sacrifice part of his salary to facilitate the deal.

Last week it was reported that Dortmund would pay around a third of Sancho’s £300,000 weekly salary, which would leave United with a large purse to save, prompting them to ask Dortmund for loan fees as well.

Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen will today finalise his loan move to Borussia Dortmund as the Blues weigh up signing a replacement, reports Nizaar Kinsella.

The 21-year-old left-back is set to join the German giants on loan until the end of the season, with no option to buy included in the deal.

Maatsen only played one Premier League game under Mauricio Pochettino and decided to step away, having signed with Moises Caicedo’s football agency Epic Sports in January.

Both Bowen and Paqueta were hurt during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City in the FA Cup third round, with the club due to carry out further assessments on Monday.

Hopefully top scorer Bowen’s ankle injury will prove to be minor, but there are concerns about Paqueta, who lasted just 10 minutes before suffering a recurrence of the knee problem that left him limping at Arsenal last month.

Nonetheless, former Tottenham man Bergwijn, who scored in Ajax’s 2-1 friendly win against Hannover 96 on Sunday, has emerged as a leading target and the player is thought to be keen on a return to the Premier League, 18 months after leaving Spurs to return to the Netherlands.

Timo Werner flew to London last night to pass a medical with Spurs and finalise his loan spell at RB Leipzig.

All is well, the arrival of the former Chelsea striker may be shown today through Tottenham.

Speaking to reporters, Red Bull Soccer technical director Mario Gomez said Spurs had promised to play against Werner.
