Ange Postecoglou expects Tottenham to be the destination for the most productive young players in the world after Swedish sensation Lucas Bergvall decided to sign them at Barcelona.

Bergvall is set to mark his 18th birthday on Friday by signing a five-year deal with Spurs and before linking up with Postecoglou’s first team from the start of pre-season in July.

Spurs signed 21-year-old Radu Dragusin, a non-Bayern Munich side in January, and in the past 18 months have signed 20-year-old Alejo Veliz, 21-year-old Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie and 22-year-old Micky. van de Ven.

Asked how Spurs have persuaded Europe’s most sensible teenagers to sign up for the club, Postecoglou replied: “I don’t think it’s so much what we say, but more what other people see. That’s what’s vital.

Saïd Benrahma’s hopes of leaving West Ham to join Lyon have been dashed after the French club’s general manager claimed FIFA had given the green light to the transfer.

Benrahma travelled to France on Thursday to complete a medical ahead of his expected move to the Ligue 1 side, but disaster struck late on deadline day when it appeared that the clubs had failed to complete the deal in time.

However, at a news conference on Friday afternoon, Lyon chief executive Laurent Prudhom said the club’s appeal to FIFA for the move to be ratified in arrears had been successful.

He said on Friday: “We have a message telling us that FIFA has accepted the validation of the TMS fit for Benrahma’s move.

“Our efforts are paying off!”

David Moyes needn’t worry as Lyon have confirmed Said Benrahma’s move from West Ham has been validated by FIFA!

More to come.

David Moyes insists he is self-assured. Said Benrahma will remain fully committed to West Ham for the remainder of the season, despite not being able to move to Lyon by the deadline, writes Malik Ouzia.

Benrahma’s proposed loan fell through in the final hours of the window after neither club signed the deal in time.

Benrahma had flown to France to undergo a medical in the expectation of joining the Ligue 1 side in a transfer that would have included an obligation-to-buy in the summer worth more than £15million.

In a public statement, Lyon blamed West Ham for the document challenge and accused the club of disrespect, while FIFA investigates the situation, as well as the departure of Pablo Fornals to Real Betis, which has not yet been ratified.

Barring a few other twists and turns, Benrahma is expected to return to east London for at least the rest of the season, still in the midst of a three-match suspension that will rule him out of Sunday’s Premier League break to face Manchester United.

By the time Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall completes a sensational move to Tottenham, the club will have signed 3 players this winter and, for good measure, defeated a European superpower.

Spurs overtook Manchester United thanks to the signing of Timo Werner on loan; Radu Dragusin rejected Bayern Munich for Spurs; and Bergvall opted for north London rather than Barcelona.

It is an impressive run of knocks for a club once more associated with the failures of embarrassing moves, such as Willian, Paulo Dybala, Jack Grealish and Luis Diaz.

Spurs’s new-found strength in the market is partly explained by the might of the Premier League, which dwarves their European counterparts, offering players the most competitive environment and the biggest rewards.

Tottenham pulled off an impressive move, beating Barcelona thanks to the signing of Swedish prodigy Lucas Bergvall.

Bergvall has one of the most precocious talents in Europe and Barcelona had appeared on pole to sign him.

But Spurs, led by manager Johan Lange, who has been following Bergvall for months, have gone to great lengths to sign the teenager and last night they learned late that he had turned down the Catalan giants to be part of Ange Postecoglou’s first team. squad next season.

Bergvall and his family visited Spurs’ educational flat in Hertfordshire on Monday, where he met with key figures including Postecoglou and chairman Daniel Levy before travelling to Barcelona for a pitch with the La Liga giants the following day.

Armando Broja hopes his move to Fulham can revitalise his career.

The Chelsea striker sealed a spell at Craven Cottage in the early hours of this morning.

Fulham will repay a loan of up to £4m for Broja; If the 22-year-old plays more than 50 percent of his matches, the payout will be reduced to a nominal amount.

Broja has scored two goals in 19 games for Chelsea this season after returning from a serious knee injury and the 22-year-old needs to prove once back that he is the more sensible striker.

“I know I’m coming back from a serious injury and I need to get my position back and show everyone who I am,” he said.

“And to show everyone that the injury didn’t affect me too much. I’m glad to be here and I can’t wait to get started. “

Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius will arrive on loan at Galatasaray until the end of the season, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

The 28-year-old will travel to Istanbul today to complete his medical after the Cottagers secured the signing of Chelsea loan player Armando Broja at the deadline.

The Turk closed until February 9, allowing Vinicius to complete his move after the maximum windows of European plays closed, adding England.

Vinicius has been deemed surplus by coach Marco Silva, scoring just 3 goals in 16 games in all competitions this season.

Premier League clubs spent just £100 million on one of the quietest transfer windows in recent memory, a drop from the £815 million spent last year.

An average of just over £319m has been spent every January since the 2016-17 season, when the value of domestic television rights first jumped past £5billion in a three-year cycle.

A relative plateauing of broadcast revenues and the threat of sanctions under the league’s profit and sustainability rules – with Everton already docked 10 points this season – have been cited as potential reasons for the lack of activity this month.

Spending stood at around £70m ahead of the deadline, with Morgan Rogers’ move from Middlesbrough to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace’s move for Adam Wharton bringing that figure to £100 million.

Tottenham’s £26. 7m deal for Radu Dragusin on January 11 remained the biggest of the month, while the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United made no signings.

07:18 , Alex Young

Adam Wharton is unlikely to go straight into the Crystal Palace squad but fellow new signing Daniel Munoz is available to make his debut against Brighton on Saturday.

Right-back Munoz signed Genk to an £8. 5m contract this week and is set to sign up for the Eagles side directly at Amex.

The 27-year-old has 23 caps for Colombia and is known as a long-term right-back, where Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne are out of contract this summer.

Chris Richards played at right-back in Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Sheffield United.

Crystal Palace’s new signing, Adam Wharton, says the club’s track record of players coming from the championship was key to his decision to move to Selhurst Park, writes Dom Smith.

Wharton sealed a £22.5million switch from Blackburn yesterday when the 19-year-old midfielder signed a five-and-a-half-year contract.

Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise have all used successful seasons in the championship to become Palace’s most level-headed players, and Wharton said: “It’s something that stands out at Crystal Palace – the way they’ve brought players from the championship and turned them into world-class players in the Premier League.

“That was a big reason why I wanted to come here. The goals [Eze and Olise] scored [against Sheffield United on Tuesday] were unbelievable. It just shows how much they have progressed since they came from the Championship.

“It’s whatever I need to do at this football club and I can do it. ”

A deal that passed the transfer deadline: the loan of Armando Broja to Fulham from Chelsea.

A nervous wait on Thursday night ended with the official announcement in the mid-afternoon, more than an hour after the window closed and the transaction sheet was placed in position to allow more time to finalize the move.

The Cottagers have reached a deal of up to £4m with their west London neighbours after beating Wolves Festival to sign Broja until the end of the season.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said on the club’s website. “I’m happy to be here and I can’t wait to start, meet the players and the coach and play for the fans.

“The fans play an important role and I can’t wait to go to Craven Cottage and meet them all. I’m working hard for the team and creating a genuine bond. I’m really revered and excited to be here. “

West Ham winger Saïd Benrahma saw his move to Lyon delayed on deadline day.

The French club are not satisfied with the cancellation of the deal to sign the striker, as they believe the Hammers introduced the necessary knowledge into FIFA’s Movement Matching Formula (TMS).

In a statement, he praised the “incomprehensible behaviour” of French club West Ham and strongly attributed the disorder to the Hammers.

The article began: “On 2 February, Olympique Lyonnais deeply regrets the failure of Saïd Benrahma’s move, for reasons beyond our control, and questions the behaviour of West Ham, who have not managed to complete the necessary administrative formalities despite all the agreements reached. “

Benrahma had passed a medical and was set to sign up for Ligue 1 on loan ahead of a permanent move worth around £17m this summer.

On 2 February, Olympique Lyonnais deeply regretted the failure of Saïd Benrahma’s move, for reasons beyond our control, and questioned the behaviour of West Ham, who failed to complete the necessary administrative formalities despite all the agreements reached.

Olympique Lyonnais were delighted to welcome Saïd Benrahma to Lyon on Thursday to finalise his transfer from West Ham. The two clubs had signed an interim transfer agreement, and Olympique Lyonnais had received the DNCG’s agreement to allow the transfer to proceed smoothly and transparently.

However, in the early evening, when Olympique Lyonnais had entered all the administrative data on FIFA’s dedicated platform (FIFA TMS), West Ham had never launched any technical procedure on their part, despite OL’s repeated reminders and continuous mutual telephone communication.

In the absence of this reciprocal action on the part of the English club and following this incomprehensible behavior, raising questions, the international transfer certificate could not be requested before closing time.

Olympique Lyonnais deeply regrets this and this decision, which demonstrates a profound lack of respect on the part of West Ham towards the establishment and the player.

The club reserves the right to take all appropriate steps to validate the transaction at a later date and hold West Ham accountable.

There’s a bit of a hectic atmosphere around the London stadium tonight, with a double priority for West Ham in terms of transfers and, you know, winning a football match.

Saïd Benrahma approved his in Lyon and all that remains is to close this agreement in time for the French deadline.

Pablo Fornals is expected to join Betis despite arriving at the London Stadium late in the afternoon. However, there are no plans to bring in a replacement.

Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom could be fit to return to the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano said Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign the Ajax striker and have now submitted an official response.

Adam Wharton has spoken about his decision to sign for Crystal Palace.

“I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and to play for such a big club like Crystal Palace is a great honour,” he told the club’s official website.

“The way they brought players from the championship and turned them into world-class players in the Premier League is something that stuck with me, and that’s one of the main reasons I was looking to come here. “

Crystal Palace have signed Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers, writes Dom Smith.

The 19-year-old midfielder joins Palace on a £22. 5m contract.

Although an agreement was reached a few days ago, the agreement almost collapsed last night, before the disorders were resolved this morning.

Blackburn manager Jon Dahl Tomasson said last week he wanted Wharton loaned back for the rest of the season, but Palace need midfield reinforcements due to Cheick Doucoure’s season-ending injury and insisted on Wharton joining now.

Wharton flew to London on Tuesday for the first of his medical exams, which concluded yesterday.

Palace’s first offer of £18. 5m was rejected last week. A £22. 5m fee was temporarily met with add-ons, after their interest increased when Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips rejected the Eagles to join West Ham on loan.

Fulham are keen to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja on loan until the end of the season, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

The Cottagers will beat Wolves in the race to sign the 22-year-old, who will undergo a medical in west London tonight.

Chelsea are believed to have accepted offers from both clubs and allowed the Albania international to pick his favoured move.

The Albania foreigner will most likely be sold this summer to balance the books, so that Chelsea can re-enter the market to sign the more sensible striker, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen among the most sensible targets.

Although West Ham have reached an agreement with Real Betis for Pablo Fornals, the Spaniard arrived at the London stadium tonight with the rest of David Moyes’ squad, writes Malik Ouzia.

The Hammers have accepted a £6. 8m bid for Fornals, but he is still available ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth!

Tottenham announced in September that teenager Luka Vuskovic would sign for the club in 2025.

For now though, the 16-year-old has joined Polish club Radomiak Radom on loan from Hajduk Split.

Spurs are hoping to get more first-team teams in Poland as he prepares to move to England at the age of 18.

Armando Broja will undergo a medical examination at Fulham tonight, completing his move to Craven Cottage before the 11pm deadline.

Chelsea will earn a maximum of £4m under the loan deal, but that figure will be reduced to a nominal amount if Broja plays more than 50% of the games between now and the end of the season.

Nottingham Forest have had an offer for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher rejected.

The Mail reports that Forest submitted an offer of £15 million, which was temporarily rejected via Liverpool.

The Reds have no interest in promoting Kelleher, as the club still competes on four fronts and he earns more than £20 million.

Fulham are now favourites to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja, but talks are ongoing, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

The Wolves are worried about missing out on the 22-year-old, with an alleged compromise on the £5m loan rate, and interested clubs were named this morning.

Atlético de Madrid is also following Broja, but will not sign up for the race on deadline day.

Crystal Palace midfielder Malcolm Ebiowei is on loan to Belgian club RWD Molenbeek until the end of the season, writes Dom Smith.

RWD is owned by Palace co-owner John Textor, and they have already loaned Tayo Adaramola from Palace through the summer.

Ebiowei has now joined Adaramola, making his loan since leaving Derby in 2022, having been loaned out to Hull City for six months last January.

The 20-year-old arrived at Derby’s academy after playing for Chelsea, Arsenal and Rangers.

Ebiowei has played for Palace’s first team.

Chelsea are planning to release young defender Alfie Gilchrist on loan in January, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

The 20-year-old will be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s first team until the summer.

There has been loan interest for an academy talent Cobham, adding Gilchrist, but the likes of Deivid Washington, Zak Sturge and Dylan Williams will also be staying.

The loan market has been strangely quiet at Chelsea for top players, with the exception of midfielder Andrey Santos, who will soon sign for Strasbourg.

Thursday, 1 February 2024 17:06 , Matt Verri

Brentford goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe may be on an emergency loan once the January window closes, writes Dom Smith.

Balcombe, 24, will go out on loan this month after Brentford signed Hakon Valdimarsson but then suffered an untimely groin injury that required surgery.

He’s still out, but he might be leaving with an emergency loan once he returns in his most sensible form.

Balcombe is the Bees’ fourth goalkeeper of late, along with Thomas Strakosha and number one Mark Flekken in the first team.

West Ham have a £6. 8m offer from Real Betis for Pablo Fornals.

Betis, managed by former Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini, have been targeting the midfielder in the January transfer window and saw an initial offer rejected earlier this week.

However, with just a few hours to go until the end of tonight’s deadline, the clubs have reached an agreement that will allow the Spaniard’s wish to be theirs again.

The La Liga side now have until the Spanish transfer deadline at 22:00 GMT tonight to complete the deal.

Antonio Nusa’s relationship between Brentford and Club Brugge remains stagnant, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

Both groups agree on their position: Brentford need a postponement, Brugge possibly would not grant it. This is a rare situation, triggered by a medical examination in which Brentford discovered multiple issues that make the deal risky.

The challenge probably wouldn’t be resolved until after the transfer window, as the Bees are in no hurry, as they were going to loan him to Belgium anyway.

Talks will most likely continue through the winter and spring months before summer, but it’s conceivable that some other club could simply hijack that decision.

Thursday, 1 February 2024 16:32 , Matt Verri

He’s quiet at Spurs at the moment, with Bryan Gil’s long career still unresolved, but the club expects him to stay put, writes Dan Kilpatrick.

Gil had loan interest from Brighton and Dutch club Feyenoord but is happy at Spurs. There’s still time before the deadline but barring a late change of heart, he will continue to fight for a place in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Alejo Véliz is at Sevilla and his loan will be announced tonight.

Lucas Bergvall’s side are still unsure whether he will sign for Spurs or Barcelona but, as reported in the past, they don’t have to make a decision today as any move to north London would only materialise this summer.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to remain at Chelsea for the remainder of the season.

Football. london claims that a number of clubs are interested in signing the defender but are not willing to spend a lot of money on a player who has made a competitive appearance this season.

Crystal Palace have still not given up their hopes of signing Maxwel Cornet on loan either, writes Malik Ouzia.

Needless to say, allowing three wingers to leave without bringing in a replacement would also be a step for West Ham.

It is also clear that David Moyes’ hopes of having a nice and quiet day in the build-up to tonight’s Premier League match against Bournemouth have materialised.

There are a lot of moving parts at the moment and given that Lucas Paqueta is still injured and Callum Marshall has already left on loan, one would have to assume that at least one, if both, of Cornet and Fornals would have to be on the bench tonight. .

Thursday 1 February 2024 15:48 , Matt Verri

New signing Daniel Muñoz will make his Crystal Palace debut in Brighton on Saturday, writes Dom Smith.

The 27-year-old right-back is available to feature against Palace’s rivals after he passed his medical on Monday.

Munoz joined the Eagles this week in an £8. 5m move from Genk, where he won the 2021 Belgian Cup during a three-and-a-half-year stay.

Munoz is known as the longtime right-back, where veterans Joel Ward, 34, and Nathaniel Clyne, 32, are out of contract this summer.

Ward is set to return from a hamstring injury, with Clyne betting on his absence. But Munoz is expected to move up between the two in the pecking order and will most likely make his debut to some extent in opposition to Brighton.

Munoz, Colombia’s starting right-back, is an attacking player and has scored 19 goals and 20 assists in 148 appearances for Genk.

Thomas Frank proved that Ivan Toney isn’t going anywhere.

Arsenal and Chelsea were all associated with £100m moves for the Brentford striker earlier in the window, but that has seemed unrealistic in recent weeks.

“It’s going to be breaking news, but Ivan is going to stay,” Frank said at his news conference.

He added: “Happy? Yes, but I was pretty sure as I said from the beginning that Ivan will stay with us so I was not worried about that.

“In general, it’s smart to know what you’re running with, so in this situation, yes [I’m happy]. “

West Ham are still waiting for arrivals at the moment, but rule out that Pablo Fornals could leave the club today, as well as Said Benrahma, writes Malik Ouzia.

Negotiations with Real Betis are still ongoing and if an offer West Ham consider to be acceptable comes in they may well let the Spaniard go.

Fornals denied a return to his homeland this summer when Villarreal were interested, but he has been a small player this season. His contract ended at the end of last year, but that’s to protect his asking price.

He is a popular figure around the club and has served West Ham well so perhaps there is a goodwill element to potentially sanctioning his departure – but allowing both him and Benrahma to go without signing a replacement would be a big risk.

He said: “I wouldn’t comment on the players or the rumours. No need. I’m here to talk about our players and the most important thing is the game against Burnley.

“I ask them. “

Fulham are in the market for a striker, with Raul Jimenez facing a spell out injured, but are unwilling to meet Chelsea’s £5m loan fee demand.

Speaking about Fulham’s search for a striker, Silva added: “Not only because Raul was injured, last summer we sold a striker for a large sum of money and we couldn’t update him.

“That is the reality. It was important last time and was important from the start of this window.”

Tottenham have been linked with the midfielder in January, and Chelsea are said to be willing to sell Gallagher for the right price.

There are still some things to be resolved with the transfer of Saïd Benrahma to Lyon, but now all parties are sure that the agreement will be carried out, after this morning’s doubts, writes Malik Ouzia.

It is conceivable that one or two more young players will leave West Ham on loan before the transfer window closes tonight, writes Malik Ouzia.

Callum Marshall and Gideon Kodua were already released this month and Patrick Kelly and Dan Chesters have attracted interest from EFL clubs.

Divine Mubama, however, seems to be standing still even as he now enters the final five months of his contract.
