Ange Postecoglou expects Tottenham to be the destination for the most productive young players in the world after Swedish sensation Lucas Bergvall decided to sign them at Barcelona.
Bergvall is set to mark his 18th birthday on Friday by signing a five-year deal with Spurs and before linking up with Postecoglou’s first team from the start of pre-season in July.

Saïd Benrahma’s hopes of leaving West Ham to join Lyon have been dashed after the French club’s general manager claimed FIFA had given the green light to the transfer.
Benrahma travelled to France on Thursday to complete a medical ahead of his expected move to the Ligue 1 side, but disaster struck late on deadline day when it appeared that the clubs had failed to complete the deal in time.
However, at a news conference on Friday afternoon, Lyon chief executive Laurent Prudhom said the club’s appeal to FIFA for the move to be ratified in arrears had been successful.
He said on Friday: “We have a message telling us that FIFA has accepted the validation of the TMS fit for Benrahma’s move.
“Our efforts are paying off!”

Olympique Lyonnais were delighted to welcome Saïd Benrahma to Lyon on Thursday to finalise his transfer from West Ham. The two clubs had signed an interim transfer agreement, and Olympique Lyonnais had received the DNCG’s agreement to allow the transfer to proceed smoothly and transparently.
However, in the early evening, when Olympique Lyonnais had entered all the administrative data on FIFA’s dedicated platform (FIFA TMS), West Ham had never launched any technical procedure on their part, despite OL’s repeated reminders and continuous mutual telephone communication.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has said Ivan Toney will leave the Bees on move deadline.
England striker Toney was linked with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the January window.

Sam Johnstone is expected to remain at Crystal Palace until at least the summer, and that’s the outcome the Eagles have preferred, writes Dom Smith.
Nottingham Forest were contemplating a deal for goalkeeper Matt Turner on deadline day and looked for Johnstone, but Palace were unwilling to give him up.
Forest felt that Palace’s valuation of Johnstone was too high and eventually signed Belgian foreigner Matz Sels from Strasbourg, ending his interest in Johnstone.
While Johnstone himself would now likely struggle to gain playing time given that Dean Henderson overtook him in the pecking order at Palace, the club were looking to stay until the summer.
Palace are aware that having two England international goalkeepers on their books is not sustainable as both have legitimate claims to be No1.
But they wanted to give themselves time to rectify that situation this summer. Johnstone’s tenure gives them time to bide their time and not rush any possible exit.

Crystal Palace have signed Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers, writes Dom Smith.
The 19-year-old midfielder joins Palace on a £22. 5m contract.
Although an agreement was reached a few days ago, the agreement almost collapsed last night, before the disorders were resolved this morning.
Blackburn manager Jon Dahl Tomasson said last week he wanted Wharton loaned back for the rest of the season, but Palace need midfield reinforcements due to Cheick Doucoure’s season-ending injury and insisted on Wharton joining now.
Wharton flew to London on Tuesday for the first of his medical exams, which concluded yesterday.
Palace’s first offer of £18. 5m was rejected last week. A £22. 5m fee was temporarily met with add-ons, after their interest increased when Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips rejected the Eagles to join West Ham on loan.

The Cottagers will beat Wolves in the race to sign the 22-year-old, who will undergo a medical in west London tonight.
Chelsea are believed to have accepted offers from both clubs and allowed the Albania international to pick his favoured move.
The Albania foreigner will most likely be sold this summer to balance the books, so that Chelsea can re-enter the market to sign the more sensible striker, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen among the most sensible targets.

RWD is owned by Palace co-owner John Textor, and they have already loaned Tayo Adaramola from Palace through the summer.

Betis, managed by former Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini, have been targeting the midfielder in the January transfer window and saw an initial offer rejected earlier this week.
However, with just a few hours to go until the end of tonight’s deadline, the clubs have reached an agreement that will allow the Spaniard’s wish to be theirs again.

Both groups agree on their position: Brentford need a postponement, Brugge possibly would not grant it. This is a rare situation, triggered by a medical examination in which Brentford discovered multiple issues that make the deal risky.
The challenge probably wouldn’t be resolved until after the transfer window, as the Bees are in no hurry, as they were going to loan him to Belgium anyway.
Talks will most likely continue through the winter and spring months before summer, but it’s conceivable that some other club could simply hijack that decision.

The 27-year-old right-back is available to feature against Palace’s rivals after he passed his medical on Monday.
Munoz joined the Eagles this week in an £8. 5m move from Genk, where he won the 2021 Belgian Cup during a three-and-a-half-year stay.
Munoz is known as the longtime right-back, where veterans Joel Ward, 34, and Nathaniel Clyne, 32, are out of contract this summer.
Ward is set to return from a hamstring injury, with Clyne betting on his absence. But Munoz is expected to move up between the two in the pecking order and will most likely make his debut to some extent in opposition to Brighton.

Negotiations with Real Betis are still ongoing and if an offer West Ham consider to be acceptable comes in they may well let the Spaniard go.
Fornals denied a return to his homeland this summer when Villarreal were interested, but he has been a small player this season. His contract ended at the end of last year, but that’s to protect his asking price.
He is a popular figure around the club and has served West Ham well so perhaps there is a goodwill element to potentially sanctioning his departure – but allowing both him and Benrahma to go without signing a replacement would be a big risk.

A club-record fee of £31.5million, including add-ons, had been agreed with Club Brugge, but the medical raised a number of concerns and the 18-year-old was sent back to Belgium.
Brentford have appealed for further medical attention from Club Brugge and the Norwegian Football Association.

Brentford have completed the signing of Mukhammadali Urinboev, writes Dom Smith.
The 18-year-old arrives from Uzbekistan Super League side Pakhtakor Tashkent on a six-month loan deal. He will play for Brentford B.
The Uzbekistan U18 captain said: “It’s the dream of each and every young player to be in the Premier League, and I’m very happy to take another step towards where I need to be. “

I wonder if we still can’t see a past twist in today’s story related to Said Benrahma and Brentford.
The latter have clearly been keen to bring in a winger this month and the former is stalling over his loan move to Lyon.
We’ve already noticed how Thomas Frank revived the career of one of his suffering former players, Neal Maupay, maybe again?
