Summary, prediction
As a general rule, Clemson has not lost a game until the school football playoffs arrive, this is the case for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, however, the Tigers enter this year’s playoffs with a loss in their record. Do not lower your expectations, as they are again one of the most productive groups in the country.
Clemson’s rare regular-season defeat came on November 7, when he lost to Notre Dame 47-40 in overtime, but the Tigers were a beginner quarterback Trevor Lawrence and several other key players after positive COVID-19 tests and touch-finding protocols.
After that defeat, Clemson regrouped and won his next three games, which included revenge for that defeat by beating the Fighting Irish 34-10 in the ACC championship game. It is the sixth consecutive season that the Tigers win the ACC title.
“You have to deal with a little adversity and you’re a little blinded by good luck if you don’t have hiccups along the way,” Lawrence said, according to Ralph D. Associated Press Russo.
Ohio State continued its own dominance in the Big Ten, winning the convention championship for the fourth consecutive season. However, there has been a debate about whether the Buckeyes will be included in the CFP despite being an undefeated champion of the convention.
This is because Ohio State has played only six games, including its victory over Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game. However, the PSC variety committee said the Buckeyes deserved third place, as they were also qualified in front of Notre Dame, which only had one defeat but did not live up to the ACC championship game.
Now, Clemson and Ohio State are in a position to face each other in what will be a competitive game. While tigers are favorites to win through a touchdown, it’s most likely a closed game, as it was when the groups faced off. at last year’s PSC, when the Buckeyes season ended.
“So that’s one of our motivations this off season. Just having the chance to play behind those guys is a wonderful opportunity,” Ohio State Quarterback Justin Fields said through Russo. “Of course, we know Clemson is a wonderful team. Great personal training, wonderful players. So we’re thrilled to be on the same level as them and have another chance to play with those guys. “
Lawrence and Fields are expected to do well. Lawrence, one of 4 Heisman Trophy finalists, has 2,753 yards, 22 touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games. Past courses for 1,521 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions and scored five touchdowns in six games.
It may be a closed game in most cases, but Clemson’s skill and fun will make him withdraw behind. Lawrence is expected to run overdue scoring campaigns for the Tigers to put the game aside, and once they succeed again in the CFP National Championship Game.
Prediction: Clemson 38, Ohio State 24
