Manchester City are still favourites to win the Premier League despite being in Liverpool’s hands, according to the latest supercomputer data.
The defending champions, their opponents at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, managed a 1-1 draw. John Stones had given Pep Guardiola’s men the lead before Alexis Mac Allister equalised from the penalty spot.
This stalemate leaves the race for the name in balance. Arsenal, which beat Brentford 2-1 on Saturday, has the higher goal difference against Liverpool. City are just one point behind.
With only ten games remaining, Opta has been looking for who has a chance of winning the title. It warns that Guardiola’s team remains in the driver’s seat with a 45. 9 percent chance of winning the trophy.
While that makes them the favourites, their odds were more consistent than before the draw at Anfield: 51. 4 per cent. Even though Liverpool fought back to get the equaliser, their chances also diminished.
Prior to Sunday’s draw, they reportedly had a 35. 6 percent chance of winning the title, and now those odds are 35. 3 percent. Arsenal were the big winners of the weekend.
Kai Havertz’s late goal against the Bees increased their chances by 5. 8 percent, from 13 to 18. 8 percent, still a long way from their opponents. The Gunners can further bolster their chances in their next outing.
Mikel Arteta’s side will face Manchester City at the Etihad after the international break. Jamie Carragher has already given his opinion on this adjustment and believes it can prove important in the race for the name.

He said: “I think if City beat Arsenal, they will be big favourites, really. I think if Arsenal go there and get something, I think we’ll have the same conversation, it’s up in the air. “
“I feel like Arsenal and Liverpool need three or four problems going into the last five or six games of the season if they want to dominate City.
None of the current contenders will be in action in the Premier League this weekend due to FA Cup fixtures. The clash between Arsenal and Chelsea has been postponed due to the Blues’ quarter-final match against Leicester. Elsewhere, Man City will face Newcastle at the Etihad, while Liverpool face fierce rivals Manchester United.
Although Arsenal are out of action, they still have a game ahead of them this week. They will face Porto in the Champions League and will be looking to undo their 1-0 defeat in the first leg.
