Williams boss Simon Roberts has refused to verify that George Russell and Nicholas Latifi’s 2021 contracts with the British team are forged for next season.
Doubts have arisen about the 2021 agreement of the two pilots following the recent replacement of Williams’ ownership. Russell and Latifi showed up for next year through Claire Williams last summer, but Dorilton’s acquisition of the team has called for the validity of the contracts.
Russell’s seat is the ultimate vulnerable because the British driving force does not add investment to the team, unlike Latifi.
With agent on the loose Sergio Pérez and his Mexican sponsors for a record for 2021, Racing Point’s outgoing Charger can be seen as an exciting proposition for Williams.
On Thursday, Russell insisted that he would race with Williams next year, but the team’s interim boss, Roberts, asked to set the record directly Friday in Porto in relation to his drivers’ contracts, but Williams’ boy refused to give a preview.
“There’s a lot of speculation, now there are a lot of smart drivers for the seats,” Roberts said.
Dorilton bought the equipment and nothing has changed. I can’t say more than that. “
Pressed out, Roberts remained with stiff lips.
“I’m going to say something about any of our pilots, ” added the Briton. “Or they did a wonderful job. There are many hypotheses around.
“I don’t need to feed him without realizing it. Someone’s going to give a nuance to what I’m saying, so we’re happy. Let’s take a look at the rest of the market.
“I’ll communicate it. Dorilton bought the equipment, replaced it from the drivers. “
“There are so many hypotheses and rumors, it’s crazy. It’s a stupid season after all. We don’t say anything else. “
