COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – The Columbus team beat midfielders Darlington Nagbe and Pedro Santos in Saturday’s MLS Cup final against the Seattle Sounders.
The team announced Thursday night that Nagbe and Santos were allowed to play for medical reasons.
Columbus also announced that a player tested positive for COVID-19 in the verification effects won on Thursday. He is the player at the time of positive this week, however, the team has announced who the players were.
Nagbe has 17 of 18 games this season, adding the playoffs. He played 90 minutes in the final East Conference win over New England.
Santos played all 25 games this season, adding up the playoffs. He scored six goals in the regular season and had two more in the playoffs.
