Possibly he wouldn’t bury the lede here. Madden 25 hasn’t been released yet, but EA College Football 25 plays the most productive football video game you’ve ever seen.
Does this mean that I like each and every component of the game? No, but there is no doubt that each and every football video game lover has this one in their collection. Let me also preface most of this article by saying that I haven’t had a chance to delve too deeply into Ultimate Team.
I’d rather wait until the servers are completely full and EA has a chance to beef things up to achieve an enthusiastic user base. Here are the top ten points I learned during my first 48 hours of gameplay in EACF 25.
From a purely graphical point of view, it looks like the first current-gen soccer game ever released. The player models, 3D grass, and environments are solid.
I took a ton of play in the replay suite and marveled at the details in several games.
Beyond the game visuals, the presentation is excellent. Multiple camera angles, mascots, cheerleaders, stadiums, and crowds are loaded into this game.
It took me some getting used to football, but EACF 25 plays a faster game than any other football title before it. At first, I wasn’t sure if I liked it, but after learning about the violent nature of some of the movements, everything else was too slow.
I’m comfortable with the variation between fast and slow players, which makes game-changing stars more fun and as dominant as they deserve to be in school football.
When it comes to comments, sometimes things can seem generic. There are thousands of names in the game, so I think it was a tall order to tie those legends to just one viewing team, let alone three.
However, with such a high level of presentation in the rest of the game, it is worth noting that the commentators rarely refer to the players by name. Hopefully some adjustments can be made to this lens to improve the audio after release, but as it stands, the observation comes across as very general.
Currently, it sounds more like anything you’d hear in the fifth year of your dynasty when you have a bunch of kids with traditional names in schools and the game doesn’t have their last names in the database.
The single-player crusade feature is back, and there’s a lot to like. I like the ability to know if you’re going to be a 5, 4, 3 or 2 star athlete.
I also like how you determine which school you will attend at the beginning of your educational career. However, I didn’t like not having the opportunity to play the best school games. This part of the experience has been an excellent option in the previous NCAA. games. Another issue, and probably the most important, is the overall composition of the activities during your first season if you land at a school that doesn’t allow you to play from day one.
I love positional fights and building coaches’ confidence in mini-games. I also like the ability to practice to gain more XP, which can be used to improve your momentum. I also like having to balance my studies for exams with my football-related duties.

However, something is missing. While the first goal in the end is to take the box as a starting point, EA failed when it came to creating an engaging mini-game for non-runners. Play a simulated game with lower-level players opposite the boy. The one you’re competing with would have added a lot of provocation and preparation for when you can play a genuine game.
As itArray I couldn’t wait to finish my first year because I was bored after simulating the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season.
It’s clear that EA knew how important recruitment is to the overall quality of Dynasty Mode. Honestly, EA may have presented enthusiasts with the exact same recruiting formula as NCAA 14, and I think the vast majority of users would have been satisfied.
The motion portal injection is a must, but the game’s other layers, tags, advanced UI, and notification formula make this game top-notch.
When recruiting or losing business in a sports game, I ask myself, “As a content creator, is there enough here to tell a story to my audience with this facet of the game?” The answer is yes, a thousand times over.
However, hiring is somewhat hampered by a lack of customization options.
You can’t create or edit existing recruits. Therefore, you cannot create or customize recruitment classes. This will be a major challenge for some people. I create crazy 5-star rookies in NCAA 14 and enjoy watching the match between various schools looking to convince you to sign up.
That itch will want to be satiated with a pipeline of computer-generated recruits. Fortunately, there are plenty of diversifications in prospects, but nothing like having your own.
Right before launch, I was worried that injuries weren’t in the game as much as they deserved to be. There have been some formulations related to the discussion on the wear and tear formula and injuries.
We never like to see other genuine people get injured, but in a sports video game, injuries constitute authenticity and immersion. Fortunately, I simulated a few weeks of action and noticed that players were out for up to 15 weeks. I have never been so relieved to see a serious injury. I didn’t see any injuries in the game other than a few fundamental points.
I tend to move the injury slider from the default (10) to around 20 or 25 to see how it feels.
My biggest challenge with the game is the inability to edit the lists completely. This point of customization has been one of the most important things I’ve been looking for in the game.
As it stands, the game excels in many areas, making it less difficult to settle for the limitation of directory editing. However, for some users who have been eagerly awaiting the return of the series, this limitation may be a significant disappointment, especially if they would like to recreate their high school football universe.
Upgrade
The limitations on player customization are exacerbated by what appears to be a delay on the TeamBuilder website. Luckily, EA is on track to deliver the feature just in time for International Friday at midnight.
I’m sure this feature will be powerful, even if the number of files you can upload to a dynasty is limited.
A little more transparency would have made this part of editing smoother, but in any case, it’s great to see the tool available to everyone from day one.

I can have a lot of fun betting on an offline sports game if it has a wonderful franchise/dynasty mode. EACF 25 is one of those games.
However, there are times when I need to check my skills against those of a gamer. While CUT may offer some of those opportunities, I think my problem will be the Road to the College Football Playoffs.
I enjoyed looking to find the right school to play my taste for football and trying out against the user, especially since there are so many potential matchups.
The qualifying formula has been solid so far, and I can believe that I play at least five of those matches each week.
In addition to the MVP pre-order pack that allows you to download the most productive editions of EACF 25 and Madden 25 at a discounted price, the quality of the former’s gameplay will validate the innovations of the latter.
While EACF 25 and Madden 25 are other games, the school edition offers a glimpse of where EA is going with its football product, and that’s a positive.
