Tennessee to face $100,000 fine for adhering to SEC COVID-19 protocols

Tennessee soccer has been fined for failing to comply with SEC COVID-19 protocols, according to a report Friday via Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey reportedly sent memos to schools warning about relief from conference profits for non-compliance with pandemic SEC regulations.

Dellenger said the fines are largely based on the “habit of wearing masks on the coaches component, staff, force personnel, etc. “

Flight coach Jeremy Pruitt drew attention in Tennessee’s 44-21 loss to Georgia for dressing in tights that covered each and every component of his face, mouth and nose.

An earlier ESPN report indicated that the fine will increase to $100,000 for the next week of default.

Tennessee No. 17 (2-1) will face Kentucky (1-2) on Saturday (noon ET, SEC Network). Pruitt said Wednesday that Tennessee football had not had COVID-19 tests in three weeks.
