A look back at a historic moment for West Ham United on this day in history, in collaboration with Heineken. . .
West Ham United scored six goals in a pre-season goal fest on that day in 2021, beating Scottish Premiership side Celtic 6-2 at Parkhead.
The visitors scored 3 in the half, coming back from 1-0 down to take a 3-1 lead at half-time thanks to Michail Antonio’s brace and Mark Noble’s penalty.
Saïd Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Armstrong Oko-Flex came on after the restart to end a busy 90 minutes in Glasgow.
After the start, Celtic took an early lead as Callum McGregor took possession of Manuel Lanzini and rounded Craig Dawson’s attempted block to leave Łukasz Fabiański helpless.
But the Hammers built up momentum and turned the game around thanks to Antonio’s quick brace and Noble’s well-executed penalty.
The entertainment didn’t stop in the second half, with Celtic striking first to briefly give themselves hope through a point-blank header from Ryan Christie, only for the Hammers to regain their two-goal lead minutes later through Benrahma.
There was still time for the visitors to score a fifth and a sixth, as a very good shot from Bowen placed the ball inside the left post, before Oko-Flex, who had joined the Academy this summer from Celtic, discovered the back right corner with a shot at goalkeeper Scott Bain.
