Diggs had been unabashedly frustrated with the Bills at various events since the end of the 2022 season. The four-time Pro Bowler was absent when the team began its offseason program last year and never gave a reason. He was reportedly dissatisfied with his role in Buffalo’s offense.
Diggs’ production particularly dropped last season after the Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and promoted Joe Brady. Diggs didn’t play a 100-yard game after Week 6, even though he still controlled to finish the year with an impressive 107 receptions, 1,183 yards. and 8 touchdowns.
Diggs’ divorce from the Bills is said to have been a long time coming. Diggs’ brother, Trevon, even gave the impression of calling Josh Allen at one point in the 2023 season.
The 2024 NFL Draft is incredibly deep at the wide receiver position, which arguably would have influenced Buffalo’s resolve to industrialize Diggs.
The Bills acquired Diggs in an industry with the Minnesota Vikings prior to the 2020 season. Diggs, 30, has six straight seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards.
