The University of Liverpool is about to sell its carnatic residential after it closed it last year.
Letters sent to south Liverpool’s neighbours showed the university’s sales intentions and said the university would look for a client or asset developer to occupy it in the coming weeks.
The site will probably attract a lot of attention from the developers, in a highly desirable component of south Liverpool.
The university has remodeled its accommodation services in recent years, creating two new accommodation centers in Greenbank and the city centre.
A spokeswoman for the University of Liverpool said the wishes of the students were no longer satisfied.
She said: “The Carnatic Halls of Residence site closed in June 2019 as a component of the University’s long-term residential strategy, which saw the opening of two new housing sites on our downtown campus and the renovation of our Greenbank Student Village. . .
“In operation for more than 50 years, the aging nature of carnoustic buildings means that it no longer fulfills the wishes of our academics and this has led to our resolve to sell.
“There will be a full public consultation as a component of the sales and plan development process, which we hope to take a position in the coming months. “
