Thanks to your remarkable support, 2024 has been another record-breaking year for Celtic Football Club and Celtic FC Foundation.
In fact, the achievements on and off the court are not precedents and, as we approach at the end of this extraordinary year, it is time to take a look back to the seven most outstanding aspects of the Foundation in 2024:
Announced just this past week, the Foundation achieved a monumental milestone as our Christmas Appeal raised and distributed an incredible £412,000 – our highest total to date.
This general record arises despite the fact that many followers are facing their own monetary difficulties, and it has actually been humbling to see the Celtic circle of relatives mobilize altruistically, as they do, to help others.
These vital funds have provided food, gifts, and support to those most in need, ensuring they could experience the magic of Christmas during difficult times. Your selfless contributions have been nothing short of inspirational.
This year marked the opening of our newly refurbished Hub at Celtic Park, creating a safe and welcoming space designed to better serve the community.
The facility includes 3 education rooms, a kitchen domain and the sky room, a personal treatment domain for individual support and guidance, with a massage chair for relaxation.
The new layout enables the Foundation to deliver multiple projects simultaneously, significantly increasing its capacity to tackle poverty, inequality, and social exclusion.
In 2024, Celtic Park welcomed its first charity adjustment since 2018, while more than 30,000 followers challenged the rain to a football afternoon.
The Celtic Legends team beat Borussia Dortmund Legends 4-2, just one day after the first male team won the Scotland Cup. Thanks to Celtic’s great support, a magnificent total net of more than 200,000 was collected.
In September, our Legends team went south for an exciting game in Old Trafford. After an impressive 1-1 draw, HOOPs came out victorious with a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout over Manchester United Legends.
The Foundation continued to expand Paradise Pit Stop in 2024, and the allocation is now open 4 days a week.
And once again, we open our doors for a very special stop for Christmas paradise, welcoming three hundred visitors for Christmas dinner, entertainment and essential services.
This initiative aimed to spread holiday cheer and make a significant difference in the lives of Americans and families in Glasgow.
In 2024, Celtic FC Foundation supporters took on three remarkable global challenges, raising significant funds and leaving a lasting legacy.
In February, the participants, ancient Celts Tom Boyd and Simon Donelly, finished the first Sahara Desert Trek, collecting more than £37,000.
Later, an organization of 10 volunteers went to Blantyre, Malawi, in partnership with Classrooms for Malawi to renovate the Masalani Community Secondary School, thus significantly providing educational opportunities for generations in the long run.
In October, his followers, who were joined by former Celts Peter Grant and Neil Lennon, walked the 116 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain.
Their efforts raised £40,000, culminating in a heartfelt performance of ‘you will never walk alone’ upon their arrival in Santiago de Compostela, and will be cherished forever.
2024 has been another record-breaking year for the Foundation’s Gala Dinners in Glasgow, London, New York, and for the first time, Notre Dame.
Glasgow’s sports dinner began the year with an amazing £ 120,000 collected, thanks to the beneficial ones of enthusiasts and sponsors.
In March, the New York gala returned to the magnificent Cipriani 25 Broadway, where around 350 visitors jointly raised the sum of $355,000.
In July, the Foundation hosted a special fundraising occasion at the iconic Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana, on the eve of the Celtic preseason matchup against Chelsea.
Finally, the London Gala Dinner closed the year in style, £420,000 at the magnificent Four Seasons Hotel London in Tower Bridge.
Above all, the good fortune of 2024 would not have been imaginable without the unwavering determination and generosity of the Celtic family.
From online auction collections, gala dinners with individual fundraisers, the pastime of Celtic supporters to repair extraordinary ones.
Together, they helped make 2024 one of the maximum impressive years in the history of the Foundation.
Thank you, and in 2025!
